On July 27th 2012, London will proudly unveil the 30th Olympic Games to the world - the first time the city has hosted the Games for over 60 years. To commemorate this momentous event, the Royal Mint has commissioned an exclusive and highly collectable series of four superb £5 coins to be released in limited numbers.This uncirculated Countdown coin is the first in this commemorative collection. Designed by Claire Aldridge, Royal Mint engraver, this fine coin features the London 2012 logo and an image of two swimmers designed in harmony with the logo graphics. Also featured is the first countdown number, "3", representing three years to the great event. The design is encircled by a representation of the top of the new Olympic stadium. It comes complete in a clear acrylic protection case and a Certificate of Authenticity.
